There's Kate for that.....

So by now EVERYBODY should know about my ridiculous love for Kate Spade. Ridiculous, because it can't be anything but. So I saw a link to pictures of their 2014 Spring/Summer collection which was presented at fashion week. Of course, I jumped (if not threw myself) down the rabbit hole, and 2 score years and 20 hrs later-aka 2 hrs-I ended up on the Kate Spade "Home" page (not their home page but their HOME page, with things for the home!) And boy, do these people know how to make you spend money. As in, I could spend $200 dollars easy on things I DO NOT NEED, but are to die for...(if not because it's Kate Spade then at least because it's silver!!).

Do I have a home? NO! Do I need these things?! NO! Do I want them tres tres badly?! Mais oui!! (But in all fairness, the things I posted here, don't necessitate a home......so the purchase would be legit yeah? Just work with me.......)

I just started a business. So I figure I need a business card holder. Yeah?!
There's Kate for that......

Whenever life gets rough, I may need a nudge in the right DIErection (get it?! lol) but guess what?!

There's Kate for that.......

Just in case my brother or father forgets their left from their right guess what?!

There's Kate for that.......

Everybody needs a paperweight that looks like a clothespin. Forget all the colourful ones she has on the website because.....?!

There's Kate for that.......

And why wouldn't you want your kids to step out in style. Show off to all their friends with their cool new toy, because who doesn't need an expensive yo yo...(why was this in Home section again? OH! Right....odds and ends :-/ )

There's Kate for that.......

They should call me for marketing i'm convinced. I'd be good right?!

Yours,

Googly eyed and in love....... : -)

Happy 51st!

On Sunday in church, in pre celebration for today, Independence day we sang the national anthem at the end of the service. It was then that it hit me that our anthem was so beautiful. As I pondered the lyrics I thought, wouldn't it be something if our country men actually lived the anthem?

I'm not sure how many other people in other countries think that, but I believe that our country would be in a much better state than it is now if we lived this prayer.

NATIONAL ANTHEM

Eternal Father bless our land,
Guard us with Thy Mighty Hand,
Keep us free from evil powers,
Be our light through countless hours.
To our Leaders, Great Defender,
Grant true wisdom from above.
Justice, Truth be ours forever,
Jamaica, Land we love.
Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica land we love.
Teach us true respect for all,
Stir response to duty’s call, strengthen us the weak to cherish,
Give us vision lest we perish.
Knowledge send us Heavenly Father,
Grant true wisdom from above.
Justice, Truth be ours forever,
Jamaica, land we love.
Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica land we love.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE JAMAICA!

Yours,

Happy 6th!

SING!

So I have been absent from the "Glee" scene for quite some time now(i.e. i haven't watched it since season 2 was on air and now i'm trying to catch up). Admittedly, I got a little tired of it. It was just a period in my life i suppose. Regardless, I've picked it up again and I remembered why I loved it in the first place. There are some things that still irk me about the show. But who's perfect? With all that said, and my repeatedly stated desire that LIFE SHOULD BE A MUSICAL, I absolutely loved the glee club's version of "Sing" by My Chemical Romance. I do appreciate the original version. However, there is something about the glee version that, I don't know.....appeals to me I suppose. I get more out of it if that makes more sense. I simply prefer it to the original version (hold all flying objects please), and here it is for your listening and viewing pleasure.....

I know what you're thinking. stockings?! (or tights for the American's among us) YES! For some reason when I saw these I instantly thought "Yes Dan this could work....this could definitely work" It's weird though because I hate the stockings that have the visible line at the back yet here I am drawn to these....hmmmmm....

Blue knee highs?! Yes!!! Need I say more....

And then depression.........

why you may ask? Isn't a sale a good thing?! Yes! I would most definitely agree, however it only serves to annoy me when I'm broke hahaha.....

One of the Longest Breaks Ever...........

After what may or may not have been one of the longest breaks from blogging (maybe not the longest come to think of it........) i'm back with a picture. A picture?! Yes! A picture. Well it's more of a screen shot really. While setting up a new gmail account for business purposes, I saw this......

Are you thinking what i'm thinking? "Other"? Needless to say I was-............- yes, that exactly. I kept saying "huh? what? huh?" I was legitimately confused for at least 5 mins (OK maybe not that long but it was awhile).

Despite my confusion, I did click the "Other" option. As I said this email account I made was for business purposes-an errand business that I am presently setting up-so I thought well the business isn't male or female so I guess this is what the "Other" option is for (crickets in the background i'm sure).  Then I thought, "Ooooohhhhh transgender and transexual people...." then I went right back to "huh? what?" Feel free to laugh leave the judgement at the door.... Oh well such is my life!!

In other news, the interesting reads of the day are:

  • Why Finnish Babies Sleep In Cardboard Boxes: I thought, what?! boxes?! aaahhhh!! But it's a very good article which shows a governments dedication to bettering the lives of the mother's in their nation which was born out of a need to decrease infant mortality rate.

  • I discovered Thought Catalog a couple weeks ago and since then I have been visiting their page quite frequently. They have an interesting database of articles from many different writers. An article posted today on the 5 Things Women Should Start Doing Again. I'm in absolute love with #5, seriously....this should be done always.....

Wooooo hoooooooooooo Marko!!!!

Chelsea 4- 1 Wigan

Ramires 22'
Hazard 55'
Lampard 87'
Marin 90+2'

Buena Marin! First goal for the club! I say that deserves a celebration don't you?! I mean there have been transfer rumors (and it has been a frustrating season for him I would think) however he helped us to an astounding finish today at Stamford Bridge. Yay!

Thank you for that win! You boys put a smile on ma face today! It was well needed and well deserved. This season definitely hasn't gone how I thought it would (I will not mention RDM.....not mention champions league.....not mention RDM....) however we're in third place which is not bad considering the ups and downs  and drama that has seemingly taken quite a liking to the club since the beginning of the season.

In other news, a free transfer for Lampard at the end of the season?! What's going on at headquarters....really?

Yours,

Markooooooooooo..... : -)

Replay Cheeseplay......

When I fall in love with a song I play it OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER. So now i'm sure you're wondering...."Well, big deal...who doesn't?" Yeah...I think I take it to the next level. For the past five days (yes, five) "Locked out of Heaven" has been on repeat, and when I say repeat I mean REPEAT. It's ridiculous! I do this every time I discover a song that I absolutely adore. Yes I know that this song by is probably, by industry standards, falling to the wayside if it hasn't already reached there; however I just discovered it's amazingness (is that a word?). Mainly because i've been fighting out Bruno Mars ever since the atrocity that was "Grenade". Thank God I gave this song a chance!

The vocals are beyond awesome, you can hear the feeling in this song (as you usually do in all his songs), and when you watch the video that I am going to post please tell me you think this should have been the video as well....hee hee : -).

This clip of him performing live in Paris is by far the best performance i've ever seen of him (i've only seen this one but it is really good, so i feel comfortable saying it's the best ;)). I can tell that he and his band are genuinely enjoying themselves. I like to see that in an artiste; and boooyyyyy can he move his waist(see 3:40) ....hahaha. He really is a talented individual, I mean the performance sounds exactly like the recording, except for a few minor changes which still sound good in the song!! Idk man idk I could go on and on and on and on......but i think you should just watch the video........

"Locked out of Heaven" Live in Paris

My Grandmother's China

A couple years ago my Grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Last year she was placed in a nursing home. I was gifted with her china. When your family lives in two different countries it's always a challenge to visit often and when you do eventually get to see them it is always a tremendous blessing. This Christmas I got the opportunity to visit her.

My Grandmother has always been fiercely protective of her independence, especially as she got older. I remember it took my aunt and her doctors almost a year to convince her to use a walker; and she most definitely was not pleased when they felt it necessary to move her to a nursing home because she could no longer live on her own.

As far as crying hearts go mine definitely shed some tears on seeing the effects of the disease. I remember the last time I saw her a couple years ago, she was living on her own, and doing her own thing with no help and with no seeming intention of slowing down. To see her depending so much on people was heartbreaking, because I know that if she could still speak as easily as she could a couple years ago, the whole family would have gotten an ear full.

I was however happy to see that despite the loss of memory, the one thing that remained was her pleasant demeanour and her faith in God (now I suppose that's two things : -)). She was always singing some carol or a song and whenever you spoke-though you could tell that she was trying to figure out who you were-she always had a ready smile. That is what comforted me every time I left her side right up until that last night I spent in Canada, the fact that she seemed happy.

I suppose what I am really trying to say is that I love my Grandmother immensely, and there isn't a time when I can look back in my past and not see her there. There also isn't an area of my life that she has not influenced. I am glad I got to see her again. I hope I get to see her again really soon; and I am glad that I have her china, because in addition to the memories that I hold dear I have something that she owned for the greater part of her life and I do so plan to cherish it with all my heart.

Yours,

Family...: -)
