Genetics.........

As I sit and attempt to study the "branched line method" in Genetics for my exam tomorrow, my mind wanders, and I think of my dear friend S who reminds me in her own way on more than one occasion to blog. Which then leads me to make more promises to myself that "Yes! This week will indeed be a new and better week and I will indeed blog and make her proud...." but then I end up doing stuff like watching true blood or sleeping...;-)

So this blog is dedicated to my dear friend S. To whom I make this vow....I WILL blog on a partially semi regular basis...lol

That's the best I can do hon...;-)

The clock that wasn't a clock......

So I’m in Canada visiting family for a couple weeks and a cousin (C) of mine takes me to the CN tower along with her 5-y-o son who hasn’t been there either. So of course I do not refuse, I mean a Canadian tourist attraction that doesn’t start with the word Nia...

After we travel to the top of the tower and see like three different cities because the tower is so friggin tall!!!!! I go to the souvenir shop and I see this cool clock that I just had to have. I don’t buy souvenirs but then again I sed to myself...”self...when are u gonna ever be here again....” with that thought I decided to spend the 21 doll-hairs to buy the clock. I asked my usual questions and made sure that when I bought the clock the battery would last for awhile and that it did indeed come with a battery. Needles to say I was very pleased with my purchase.

We go over to C’s fiancĂ©es house and were talkin and i’m havin’ my peach drink and he’s makin tacos for dinner and he wans to see my souvenir. Proud as I am I whip put that bad boy and lo and behold...No clock face....I kinda did that thing that they do in movies where they stare incredulously for a bit; and I swear if my life had a soundtrack, “Stupid Girls” by Pink would be playing and the track would be stuck on the beginning of the song where Pink just says stupid girls a couple times...yeah that would be repeated over and over and over....

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED???

This is what I realised...being me (you know that you all do it too) I inspected the clock on display and then I pulled open one of the other boxes of clocks and looked at what that box looked like. Then satisfied with that I went to the back of the row and pulled the closed box at the back. Took that to the cashier paid and I was out. Here’s the thing this box was three boxes behind the box I had opened. So obviously I assumed that it would be the same damn thing. NOPE!! Here’s the other thing I realised that there was the replica of the CN tower minus the clock being displayed on the same table with the CN tower replica with clock. SO I should have checked. Paid the price for the clock too......“Stupid girls, Stupid girls...”

Hitched or Ditched?

As I sit here watching “Hitched or Ditched” I can’t help but wonder what on earth has television gone to? Whatever happened to the sanctity of marriage?

So the objective of the show is to give couples an invitation to their own wedding. From the point of invitation they have a week to tell their families and friends about the wedding and come to a decision about whether or not they are going to say “I do” to each other. But here’s the catch they can’t tell their significant other about their decision until they are at the altar in front of all their relatives and friends. Really? Say it with me u noe u want to...really?

The show from here now dissolves into this big holapalooza having to do with the fact that this bride’s family doesn’t want her to marry to her groom. And the groom’s family is opposed to him marrying the bride; but without a doubt in every episode both families ALWAYS without fail agree that they are not ready to be married. Most of these couples have been together for 2-5 years and as far as I am concerned if you don’t know if u want to marry that person after being with them for that long then you should just break up. May be a bit pessimistic but hey....

DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA.....So this most recent episode the boyfriend lived at home with his family and has been with his girlfriend for a year and a half. They get the invitation to the wedding and they tell their families and nobody is happy. Of course it wouldn’t be much of a reality TV show if somebody didn’t want to shoot someone else. The grooms mother threatens to have herself committed...(ok?? Crazy....I’m thinking be my guest...) and chews out the bride. The guy just sits there and doesn’t do a damn thing, in defence of his girlfriend. Prick! Now the brides mother (the father is absent as are many father’s nowadays) is more supportive, don’t get me wrong she’s not happy with the situation but she sees that her daughter is in love and decides to give her the benefit of the doubt. But to make a long and now uninteresting story short, the guy decides to not marry the gf and remain living at home with his parents and his bird. Now that's a recipe for an excitin life....Lol...:-)

Whatever happened to the days where people actually seriously considered marriage, and respected it as a union between people who loved each other. God forbid people nowadays accept the fact that marriage was and still is mind you an arrangement set up by God; I swear pigs would fly...

Honestly, reality TV?

The tele is going to the dogs...;-)

Short and Spicy just the way I like ‘em!!!

I must say that of all the people I am the last person that I imagined would ever be doing this. I never understood why people blogged and the purpose it held in anyone’s life. It’s still an elusive concept to me however I figure I have thoughts that I would love to share and that I imagine other people wouldn’t mind reading....the followers will tell of course...lol.

Later lovelys!!
