The Princess and the Frog

Now I’m not entirely sure what is going on with Disney, however “The Princess and the Frog” left a less than savoury taste in my mouth to say the least. I was never a big fan of this fairy tale, and I detest frogs with a passion so great that I’m positive would put some lovers to shame, however it’s Disney and from Disney animations in the past I have come to accept nothing but the best. The movie wasn’t terrible, it just wasn’t great. What was most disappointing was the voodoo aspect of the movie. In Disney movies of the past there have always been aspects of evil that threatened the hero or the heroine and good always overcomes evil as it does in this movie but the fact that the dark forces were so prominently featured and given name in this movie was quite disturbing. Children are watching this movie and though I was able to sleep without any trouble the movie did creep me out with all the talk of “friends from the other side” and showing the demons that aided the Shadowmaster in his quest for riches and what not. Even “The Little Mermaid” which was in my mind one of the creepier movies with the Ursula aspect was no bother.

Nonetheless I’m sure that the movie was satisfactory for some, for those who wanted a black Disney Princess they got one, for those who missed Disney and wanted another animated movie they got one, and for those who just wanted some form of entertainment they got that as well. All in all it was a decent movie, not one that I’d rush to the store to buy but I would perhaps watch it again sometime in the future. Now that I have said much and nothing I leave you to it.

J: You know it's true...ur body is no longer an asset it's depressing!

Me: *cough* laugh laugh laugh.....that was great...
